I love it. It actually reminds me a lot of the 90s Civic's interior.

That looks like a nice place to be. My buddy got a 2014 Accord a week or two ago, and the interior is very nice in it as well.

I'm glad to see they aren't changing the CX-9 much.

Yep, after the current, pre FL, Civic was heavily criticized, Takanobu Ito, split Honda's design department into interior and exterior design, and appointed people he trusted, to lead the new departments.
You have Toshinobu Minami, chief of exterior design and Yoshinori Asahi, chief of the interior design. Asahi, in particular hated how his designers always complained about tight budgets, for interior designs, and said in an interview, that :
"We aren't going to take the attitude, 'This is our cost, so make an interior that matches it,'" Asahi said. "My job is set high targets and achieve them with low-cost technologies. If you don't do this, design quality deteriorates. I think that was the problem with Civic."

Well, it sure looks like a welcoming interior, you know, the type of interior that it isn't boring to look at, but in the same time, all the controls are easy to use. If an interior makes me want to jump in, fill the cup holders with bottles of my favorite sodas, plug my mp4 player in the USB port, start the engine, and keep driving, I'm going to do a drive test too, but If the car has a crappy interior, maybe not so much.
